“Abbreviated Enlightenment creates a hodgepodge of delights” with “tiny bits of humor, improv, music, and poetry” appealing to “connoisseurs of the hip and the odd.”
Dallas Morning News (Jul, 2004)
Welcome to Abbreviated Enlightenment!
“Abbreviated Enlightenment’s theatrical snippets add up to a very big show!” Tired of the same old? Tom says “This (show) is different. Quick hit laughs are one thing, but improv tear-jerkers, now that’s unusual.”
Beginning Spring 2006, every Saturday night at 10:30pm, Lila Theatre will be producing Abbreviated Enlightenment, which first debuted as /ochen chotto schpiel/: “very little play” in Dallas in 2004. The production is an entire international alphabet of reality-based sketches containing music, art, storytelling, visual art, videography and improvisation in one fast-paced audience-driven show.
The show’s highly interactive audience experience ushers in a “new age of reason” for those tired of formulaic Hollywood, un-reality TV, Clear(ly one) Channel radio, and Fox-news world filters.
Culture is revolting, and Abbreviated Enlightenment is leading the charge.
