The Show

AE is a compilation of short truth-based sketches which are written, directed, and performed by a collection of multi-format performance artists, including: improvisers, musicians, visual artists, dancers, videographers, and writer/performers.

AE presents multiple art forms simultaneously within each short sketch. An entire international alphabet's worth of sketches is performed in an evening, with the audience's help to determine the order. An English Alphabet program one week will have 26 sketches; a Russian program the next will have 33.

During the show a live visual artist interprets the performance, and his/her work is revealed as sketches are completed.

Our goal is to create a diverse body of multi-disciplinary pieces, executed with speed and precision so that the audience goes on a fast-paced ride with the ensemble from personal to esoteric, improvised to crafted, poetry to physical, rhythm to dance, dark to comic, silly to intellectual, and verbal to visual.

In a sound byte world, AE makes these bytes smarter. A rapid fire of enlightenment, in abbreviated form.

An All Ages Show

This is an all ages show, but not recommended for young children. We simply don't think they'd get it. Our rule of thumb: mature language and content are tempered by intellect.

In the Lila Theatre production of AE, Beverages are available (with zing for those showing ID) at the art gallery on the first floor, and may be brought into the theatre.
